Byron
and Sonia Lye-Fook were both born in Jamaica and went to live in England when they were ten years old. They visited Ghana in December 1998 and fell in love with the place and decided it would be the ideal location to spend their retirement. They began building The Almond Tree Guest House in August 2000 and since then have met many challenges and experiences. |
|
Byron
and Sonia know that their coming to
Ghana
was indeed a spiritual
journey. They
believe that all people, especially those of African Ancestry need to make at least one Pilgrimage to these historical sites in order to fully comprehend the impact of slavery on African people worldwide.
Sonia is a former primary school
teacher who retired in August 2003. As well as running the guest house
Byron is coming from a music
business background being a former drummer, playing with blues, soul,
reggae |
