The Almond Tree Guest House is situated in the suburb of Elmina, a fishing town in the Central Region of Ghana, and is located 6 Km from Cape Coast off the Takoradi Road adjacent to the Elmina Beach Resort. Historically, this is the area where the Trans-Atlantic Slave trade began.

We welcome both local and international guests who want to relax in a safe and peaceful setting. On offer are a variety of activities for guests who wish to learn about Ghana’s history and culture. We can also provide escorts to places of interest such as Cape Coast Castle Dungeons, Kakum Rain Forest, Assin Manso burial site, located on the river where the slaves took their last bath before being taken to Cape Coast and Elmina Castle Dungeons, as well as to local amenities such as the bank and local markets.

	This stunning display of color attracts a variety of birds and butterflies.

We are constantly adding new species of plants to this vibrant garden.

	During your stay with us we are able to offer healthy nutritious meals using fresh organic produce wherever possible. We specialize in Jamaican and Ghanaian cuisine as well as providing Vegetarian and Continental dishes.

Our restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere for formal eating or you may enjoy your meals on the terrace overlooking views of the ocean and Women’s Village. We also provide facilities for the discerning traveler who prefers to cook their own meals, for a small fee.

The Almond Tree Guest House is located 2 km from the town of ELMINA which can be
reached by a 15 minute stroll or a 3 minute taxi ride.

Elmina Fishing Harbor & Fish Market

In Elmina there are various places of interest to visit such as the infamous Elmina Castle
Dungeons, Fort St Jago, the 19th Century Dutch Cemetery, the Posuban Shrine and the
Fisherman’s Market. Alternatively, you can go to the vibrant harbor to watch the fishing
boats leaving or arriving and experience the hustle and bustle of the fishermen unloading
the day’s bountiful catch. This is the place where our cook buys the catch of the day from
the large variety of fresh fish.
